- set up a separate dashboard "tablet" for the tablet only
- set up a different user "tablet"
- login with user "tablet" and configure HA for
- dashboard "tablet"
- Always hide sidebar
- Dark theme
- Change the order and hide items: remove all items
- enable visibility for all views on dashboard "tablet" only for user "tablet"
- configure all navigation buttons to jump to "tablet" dashboard URLs
- tablet arrived, unpack, hook up to power, DO NOT connect to WIFI
- debloat tablet

- I did the following
- tap 7 times on serial number, enable developer options, enabled USB debugging
- connect tablet with windows PC
- install and start fire toolbox
- remove lockscreen ads
- install google services
- install nova launcher
- manage amazon apps and do "standard debloat"
- waited a couple of minutes
- disconnected from USB
- login to google play store
- install Fully Kiosk
- with the tablet's internal browser go to https://www.fully-kiosk.com/en/#download-box and download "Fully Kiosk Browser APK ver. 1.45 (for Fire OS)"
- I did the following
- bought a license (approx 10EUR)
- set start URL to http://192.168.178.83:8123/
- login with user "tablet" and configure HA for
- dashboard "tablet"
- Always hide sidebar
- Dark theme
- Change the order and hide items: remove all items
- Toolbars and Appearance: disable "Show Navigation Bar" and "Show Status Bar" and "Show Action Bar"
- Enable "Remote Administration" and set a remote admin password
- Enable "Motion Detection (PLUS)"
- Approve all pop-up questions from the tab
- add fixed IP address in router
- open browser on tablet and surf to
http://192.168.178.83:8123/lovelace-tablet, login and see if it works - Receive/send data to Fully Kiosk
- install https://github.com/cgarwood/homeassistant-fullykiosk in HA
- the easiest way, so I try that first and see if I'm missing something
- use remote admin access with password set before
- change screen saver settings, test other settings
- ~setup REST sensors in HA for data from Fully Kiosk~
- ~enable MQTT~
- At this point ...
- the tablet runs in full kiosk mode (no top or side bars)
- on power failure, everything is restored as expected
- motion detection turns the screen on
- screen goes off after 30s
- the battery of the tablet is a sensor in HA , tablet is charged between 20% and 80% with a Shelly Plug S
- once the doorbell button is pressed, tablet goes fullscreen with camera of front door
what is the easiest to maintain?
have one dashboard for all devices? tablet (wall) and phone (users) have two separate dashboards? how not to get confused with buttons that jump to a URL? have a separate user for the tablet? how to turn on the tablet and go fullscreen once the doorbell is pressed? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FktMQSD5LE
