Social Networking Links #6

In SWANweb10-10-11[1].docx, Diana says:

Social Networking Links: We would like to be set up to use all social networking applications.

I did some quick searching and it doesn't look like they have accounts for SWAN with twitter or facebook (is that "all"?).

So this issue would be for setting up twitter and facebook as well as linking to them from the main site.

Created a twitter account.

Facebook created, but facebook requires you to receive a text message to verify the account in order to get a vanity name ie- facebook.com/swan4kids

I had facebook send Diana a link for her to click on and then register a phone number. If we want to add a twitter link, I registered: http://twitter.com/swan4kids Eric, I will email you the password information to forward on.

Great! Sounds like we'd just need to add twitter/facebook icon links, maybe in the sidebar beneath the "Learn how you can help" button.

I started to do this but ran into a really annoying error trying to run the migrations (the gory details here) -- will try again soon another way.

PS. meanwhile passed along the FB/Twitter info to SWAN.

@seanmarcia, Diana said she hadn't received anything yet from facebook. Which email did you use for her?

Eep. Sorry about that! I didn't notice that gmail put in the github rather than eric's gmail address.

I put links to these under the menu bar, finally. The CSS is maybe not the cleanest, but it was quick & doesn't look too bad.
