as well, just accidentally faced it :). I'm sure @qrthey is right, the problem is with items without points. The main page looked like this (pay attention to item no. 8):

As the screenshot shows, the news site at ycombinator does not always render the amount of points for a news item (likely when no points are given yet). This causes the scrape1 algorith to combine a headline with the points amount of the next item in the resulting output lines.
