Hey @ashwinsrnth. These are the intermediate level MATLAB materials that Mathworks developed (see this blog post for a summary of their history). At the moment they are hosted in a @resbaz repo, however it would be more appropriate for them to be hosted in the relevant intermediate level MATLAB directory in a Software Carpentry repo (hence I submitted this pull request back in September).

I say go ahead and merge this PR and then go for your life if you'd like to develop and refine the materials, however I think our focus should definitely be novice material development first and intermediate second.

Hey @ashwinsrnth. I think this needs a lot of work. There is plenty that overlaps with the novice materia and some things that I wouldn't bother putting in (like 4 different ways to read in data). What's your plan, did you want to redo it all / is there a python lesson that we can translate / did you want to use this material?

I wasn't sure what was supposed to happen here - I was assigned this a while ago, so I figured it needed review. I'm OK with merging it right now, although I'm afraid I don't have enough MATLAB expertise to improve upon it in any major way :-)
