Same problem on Ubuntu 20.4

Leeonardoo commented 3 years ago

To anyone having issues, for now a workarround is possible by login using vscode and then try again on IntelliJ/Android Studio and again, click agree on Spotify page. It should work then. Just tested now on Ubuntu 20.04

rekkisomo commented 3 years ago

I should've left a comment on my closed issue, however have you tried unauthorizing the app on your Spotify account, then restarting the IDE and trying again? I remember I had to do that before it finally connected. (When it does connect, thankfully you don't have to go through it again even after reinstalling the IDE (;´д`)ゞ)

Khavronsky commented 3 years ago

Same problem on Ubuntu 20.04.1 with Android Studio 4.1 Music Time v.2.0.14

jayjah commented 3 years ago

Same here! MacOSX

But just like @Leeonardoo mentioned above, that workaround worked quite well!

We apologize for the late reply. We'll look into this issue right away and thank you for your patience. Regards.

xavluiz commented 3 years ago

We've identified an issue creating the token to establish the spotify connection. The fix for this is in v2.0.16 which should be available in a day or two based on JetBrains review. Thank you.

2.0.16 isn't fixed in WebStorm 2020.2.3. Same issue.

xavluiz commented 3 years ago

Ok, thank you for the response. We're looking into this further.

xavluiz commented 3 years ago

We've found a change in our authentication logic causing this issue. The version with this fix will be v2.0.19. This should be available in the Jetbrains marketplace within a day or two. Thank you.

karlmiles commented 3 years ago

Not fixed, even in 2.0.20, for me.

Spurlos commented 3 years ago

One more symptom to the issue. I'm able to connect to Spotify, but it constantly forgets the auth token after I restart IDE, thus I need to reconnect each time.

Also MusicTime readme file is begin opened in IDE, just like it was installed for the first time. Looks like whole settings bucket isn't being saved for some reason.

abstrxtInfinity commented 3 years ago

Facing the same issue in Android Studio.

xavluiz commented 3 years ago

Hi, we apologize for the connect issues. We've identified the issue and released v2.1.4. You may need to reconnect Spotify by disconnecting then reconnecting again.

Thank you for your patience and let us know if there are any other issues.

Regards.

mitchierichie commented 3 years ago

@xavluiz I was having this issue before, now when I try to authenticate it, the software.com screen tells me it can't find an account with that email address. Then if I click 'install a plugin', it takes me back to app.software.com/login.

xavluiz commented 3 years ago

HI @mitchierichie, I'll look into this. To confirm, is this after upgrading to 2.1.4 and disconnecting Spotify? Thank you for the information.

xavluiz commented 3 years ago

Hi @mitchierichie, can you delete your /.software directory and reload your IDE? Once this happens you should be able to reconnect using the editor's "Connect Spotify" button.

mitchierichie commented 3 years ago

@xavluiz I was able to sign it without deleting my . software folder. The problem is that I didn't have a SW.com account, but your login screen doesn't have a working "sign up" button. I went to the home page and signed up there.

jeffery9876 commented 3 years ago

Using v2.1.4

I don't see any place for me to create an account in the plugin? Could you please help

@mitchierichie ok, thank you for the update about signing up. @JefferyLondon you can visit https://app.software.com/signup to create an account. I will look into why the connection isn't completing, thank you.

Thanks. Logged in on MacBook after signup the software account. However on my other pc, the pycharm never refreshed after logged in on webpage.

xavluiz commented 3 years ago

Hi @JefferyLondon. I'm working with another resource to ensure we solve multiple device connection and will get back to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, you should be able to connect from the other device if you remove the /.software folder and restart your editor.

xavluiz commented 3 years ago

We're publishing v2.1.8 today which should fix the Spotify connection issues. This should be available from the Jetbrains Marketplace by Monday or Tuesday. Thank you.

nathcakes commented 2 years ago

Not sure if you want me to create a new issue for this, but I'm still experiencing this problem on Music Time version 2.1.10.

Have tried connecting to spotify on both a Mac (M1 Chip, Monterey v12.3.1) and Ubuntu 20.04 (amd64) machines using WebStorm (2021.3.2).

After slecting Connect Spotify, I succesfully authorize Spotify, I'm redirected to app.software.com and my Spotify is listed as a connected Data Source, however in WebStorm I'm still presented with the "Connect Spotify" button.
