remove session summary data file updates #457

this removes the logic of updating the sessionSummary.json and will now use the global storage to save and retrieve the current day stats

working for me.

we should probably kick the version up to a minor bump 2.7.0 since this wraps up a bigger feature of using global storage instead of local files
