What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start android-notifier-desktop

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected normal working, but an error message appeared: "Could not start at 
least one notification receiver. You will not be able to get notifications."

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
android notifier 0.5.1-0

I cannot recieve any notification, due to this error.

You need to have at least one of the notification reception methods in 
preferences enabled and working.

Okay that was the Problem. I was not connected to any wireless network, neither 
to a wired network. But if I am connected to my network via LAN, it works, even 
if I am not connected over WLAN.

Even if your desktop is not in a network, you can let wifi selected. I've put 
"Wifi" in preferences windows because the phone can only use wireless network 
to send notifications, the desktop app is agnostic to network type.
