Should the receipt have a width of 60mm or 62mm? #18

The historical invoice slips with reference number (ISR/ESR/BVR) were specified using inches as the basic unit of measure, which leads to the slip itself having a width of 149.86mm (practically 150mm).

See PostFinance layout template.

This leads to a receipt of about 60mm.

The implementation guidelines for the QR-bill have changed this. The slip should have a DIN A6 size, which means that its width should be exactly 148mm, leading to a receipt measuring 62mm.

Some banks have been very picky about this size while validating the layout of the QR-bill and have flagged as incorrect bills printed on paper with a perforation compatible to the historical invoice slips (60mm/150mm).

What is the official position of SIX on this topic?

SIX covers this issue in its online FAQ. During the transition phase, both dimensions should be accepted by all parties. In the longer term, DIN A6 is the way to go.
