Hey Daniel! I think this is a great idea. We should bring it up at the next meeting to see what everyone thinks? And by then we will hopefully have our sites and parameters figued out so it would be a good time to expand.
If people at today's meeting are in favour, I am happy to find the relevant data and do some preliminary GIS analysis to get land use. Credit should go to @Uche as this was his idea...
For the land use data, what categories can we identify? farmland, forest, etc?
@yawenguan, @LinneaRock : I think the less categories the better as to keep analysis simple as possible; some broad categories such as agriculture, forest, grassland, urban come to mind.
What was the outcome of last week's meeting? I can dig around for global land use data if required...
Hey all! We should discuss this on Friday! @mcstreamy can u add to agenda? At the very least, we could figure out what biome or climatic zone the data are from and include this in our models!
Hi all, Not sure if this comment/discussion is appropriate in the issue section but I was wondering whether we should consider obtaining land use and general climate data for the catchments our study sites are located in. I know there is the HYDROWatersheds project we could use to get catchment shapefiles to calculate average land use and temperature, precipitation for each study catchment. Might be an interesting extension to the DOC ~ NO3 ~ TP question and provide another potential approach to categories our variables? Happy to take the lead on this if people think it is a good idea...
