SQL example working again #110

I couldn't get the current version working, so I forked it and updated some dependencies and it works now. I also fixed the auto_detect_dependency warning.

Awesome, confirmed specs and sample app run. Glad to see some of the hold workarounds to be cleaned up. Thanks for the contribution.
