Hello

Where do we set the title and meta description for CPT archive page?

Thanks Aldo

Hi Aldo,

This feature has been sitting on the backburner because it will not impact SEO measurably. It is, however, planned to be included in the next major update. See my comment here about this feature request https://github.com/sybrew/the-seo-framework/issues/20#issuecomment-252874509.

@sybrew

Checking for progress on issue 20 , I noticed your comment above: 'it will not impact SEO measurably'. That may be true in a simple/default WP install. But there are many WP sites in the wild that are heavily adapted with Custom Post Types and Custom taxonomies. In some sites I have, the CPT archive pages and Custom Taxonomy Term archive pages are the main content of the site; they have a lot of indexable content above the posts loop, coming from custom fields. That is why having SEO setting for CPT singles, CPT archives and CT term archives is necessary. They need to be indexed properly and settings like titles, descriptions, index/no-index/follow. This is all available in Yoast, but not yet in The SEO Framework... Still hoping this will be implemented in a coming update.
