Provide the back trace will helpful, just run the toggle-debug-on-error, then try to reproduce the issue again.

I cannot run SPC SPC toggle-debug-on-error because of this bug. When I run SPC t D and then SPC SPC the *Backtrace* buffer appears, but the back trace disappears when I try to copy it.

update packages showed a new helm-core version. Upgrade fixed it for me.

Note that the backtrace that @JDawson-Camlin get is different than the one you linked @gbastkowski. I get the same backtrace, and the same error as @JDawson-Camlin. I have no idea how to debug that as helm is picking up on all of the debugger commands I am trying to type in.

I have this issue too. Where exactly do I comment out helm-flx-mode?

Can confirm removing that expression fixes the issue for me.

I guess this is caused by careless incompatible changes in helm, once again... :cry: https://github.com/emacs-helm/helm/commit/45d3360aaf09cbe64c2adbbb2f014582f5a6ab6f Again, it is missing some compatibility code for handling older parts of the helm ecosystem. Similar things happened before, see the discussion starting at https://github.com/emacs-helm/helm/commit/16ab10d4b8213594e09c3164025c57a6fe9c6cf6#r70082762.

I guess a fix in helm-flx similar to https://github.com/PythonNut/helm-flx/commit/99d6e14138409e8e7f26610df04eee8afe78498f has to be done here again.

Same problem for me. Meantime creating new layout (SPC-l-2) is also broken for me. Is it possibly caused by this issue?
