Trunk won't boot on V4 board

Howdy. 

As at the follow revision, the trunk code fails to boot up on the V4 board. The 
LCD display does not even get initialised, thus suggesting the fault is 
somewhere very early on.

The frsky branch still works -- so best not update it yet.

If this turns out NOT to be an easy one -- let me know. I can go back through 
versions one by one to find the last one that did work for you.

Found the revision. It breaks in r1277. Still works in r1276.

r1276 is interesting, because it seems to boot up to main_menus ... but there's 
no splash screen (should be in this case) and in fact the system is fully 
locked up.

r1278 seems to not boot at all ... but it could be slightly different faults 
showing each time form the same bug.(?)

Could you tell me which compilation options you use? DSM2 and FRSKY?
