is there a reason you submit this to 1.2 and not master?

ie. is it a feature or a bug fix

well it's a CGL fix and easily backportable, that'S why I submitted it for both branches...

Thanks @afoeder! One PR is enough, we merge the branches in the repository from oldest to the latest branches after merging PRs.
