It is pretty useful to keep the Symphony back-end available on Slave instances for manipulating DATA in your acceptance environment. However, for the last week I've made the same mistake of performing structural changes or even page / component edits on the wrong environment several times.
There should be an option in the CDI preferences to disable navigation to certain back-end pages. Keep in mind: you should still be able to see / edit the DATA and the CDI preferences / extensions.
