Create examples/short tutorials using IPython's notebook (IPython >= 0.12) #5889

Examples/short tutorials should show how to use SymPy to solve illustrative problems in high school mathematics/physics. Notebooks must contain code split into logical blocks, text cells with problem description and references to other materials, books, videos, etc.

I think this is rather the Training category for Code-In. I also don't think it's too hard - the examples made don't need to be too long, just illustrative. Bumping the difficulty down to Medium.

According to http://code.google.com/p/google-code-in/wiki/GCIAdminMentorInformation , the difficulty for training should be "online training page for single feature or command = easy, online training page for a section/group of tools or commands 1-10 = medium, more or complete set = hard".  So we can actually create several tasks, with varying difficulties based on how big or small the notebook would be.

By the way, if I'm not mistaken, the notebook is actually IPython > 0.11, so to solve this, you will need to get the git version of IPython (until they release 0.12).

Yes, that's correct. However, IPython 0.12 will be released before the end of November, so I don't see this as a big problem.

IPython 0.12 has been released, so it is no longer necessary to use a development version of IPython to do this.

I guess this is still relevant outside of GCI, as we could always use more examples.  See issue 6039 .
