Yes. Or alternatively randomly trying to reconnect. The problem is that the officially client currently blocks all input when doing that, so you can't cancel it until it timeouts after a few attempts.

Hmm... tough question... Well, if you disconnect, try to reconnect the user once and if it fails, quit (not the program, just let him choose when to try to relog again).

Also show a message: "It seems your connection dropped. If you want to login.. " you get the idea..
