stand-by option with Wake-on-LAN #409

Do you need to send a special network message from the same network to wake up the device? Is this really usefull? How would you activate your device from outside home network?

All I know is, that there is a checkbox in fritzbox which says "enable wake-on-LAN". I thought maybe if somebody access the url, the router will wake it up automatically. But I would need to read about it...

I think it would be useful if you have a lot of synclouds and they probably run all over night and nobody uses them, so it would be actually nice to go after ~30min automatically into stand-by.
