Apps wouldn't start

Hello,

today I installed the latest system update 2112211182. When I now open the apps section and try to open one of my installed apps the system respondes "website not reachable". That happens when starting the "file browser", "nextcloud" and "bitwarden". I deleted nextcloud and reinstalled it. Even without playing back any backup I get that error message.

can you open your dns account page at https://www.syncloud.it.

1. check that you have ipv4 and ipv6 address
2. click on each ip address to see if device page shows up (accept the certificate)

@sttrebo I can see that your IPv4 is opening fine from outside and you have no IPv6. If you cannot open your device by dns name that means you are in IPv6 only network.

Looks good so far. After reinstalling I get "NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID". I will wait a few hours and report back when the certs habe been downloaded...

when you say reinstalling, you mean image or updating? Try to update the system from Updates as that gives you certificates faster in theory.

Image does not have latest system yet, are you saying image works but as soon as you upgrade system it breaks?

I still can't access the server over the internet. Local IP works but I get a cert error.

it's odd. on my desktop computer (win10 home) it's working now, plus on my 2 android devices all is fine. i have my laptop (win10 pro) though where i keep getting an error: "ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT"

i can get to the main page just fine, but none of the apps load. they all give me a timeout error.

my desktop system gets to it just fine so i don't think it's a router or external access issue. on the troublesome system, i did flush the dns cache and reset the network adapters.

fixed, crap... anyway, re-did the nslookup(s). interesting: working machine: server: unknown address: 103.x.x.x

non-working machine: server: cdns01.comcast.net address is xxxx:xxx:feed::1

non-authoritive answers are the same for both machines and the IP's are IPV4

nslookup [app].[device name].syncloud.it 8.8.8.8

If this gives the same IP as on good machine that means your DNS is not working on it, try replacing it with google for example (8.8.8.8) and try browser again.

I think it is not the port but the IP address, did you try nslookup with 8.8.8.8 on a bad machine?

update: tried about everything i could think of (even starting from a fresh install). nothing seemed to work. then i installed a VPN client (Nord in my case). now it's all good as long as i have a VPN connection. thinking it now is something with my cable router and the NAT Lookup concern.
