Let's open the repository for Hacktoberfest 2024 participants: Hacktoberfest Participants: Maintainers

• Add the “hacktoberfest” topic to your repository to opt-in to Hacktoberfest and indicate you’re looking for contributions. • Apply the “hacktoberfest” label to issues you want contributors to help with in your GitHub or GitLab project.

In-principle quite in favour. Not sure about the details. How long do I/we have to get this organised?

Hacktoberfest ends at October 31. Not many days to go. The repo maintainer only really needs to do one thing: Add the “hacktoberfest” topic to your repository

If you maintainer wants, he can apply the “hacktoberfest” label to issues for which he is specifically looking for help. But this isn't necessary. The only important thing is that when repository has the "hacktoberfest" topic, then all accepted pull requests will count towards the hacktoberfest total count.
