Main worry here is copyright concerns and implications of importing reblogged content and/or random IP you found on the internet into something hosted on your own server.
This would mostly be a problem with images, but maybe text as well if you consider content scraping?
Could include options to link to existing posts in new Jekyll post contingent on post type, otherwise a batch import along with the ability to delete would still leave it up to the user.
I still see this as useful as far as reducing friction to adopt Commonplace, but I understand the hesitation.

I think having a batch import select screen could be nice not just for IP (though I think it's great for that), but for pruning content as you pull it into a new context.
Might be a neat thing to provide some tools for easily getting Tumblr/etc posts into Jekyll.
