preCICE flap tutorial - Compatibility with OF v9 #46

Closed johng12 closed 2 years ago

It looks like OpenFOAM v9 is not compatible with the current preCICE OpenFOAM adapter. It also seems like the preCICE team is not going to support compatibility with OpenFOAM.org versions moving forward (see here).

Was the preCICE flap tutorial that comes with the most recent blastFoam release tested against OF v9? If so, I'm wondering what modifications had to be made to the openfoam adapter.

Thanks for the help! John Gilbert

Hi John, I though I had put a fatal error in the Allrun script for this exact reason, however it looks like it is not there. I do plan on creating a fork so that it can still be used, but at the current time, I do not have any time frame for when this will happen.

As far as updating the adapter, I believe it will mostly be a matter of changing library paths and names. If you decide to give it a shot I would be more than happy to provide assistance.

Thanks, Jeff

Hey. Try from here https://github.com/engenegr/openfoam-org-adapter/. PRECICE_PREFIX should be set before building.
