HDMI does work, but I'm guessing that's only USB-C compatibility mode. Cause the USB and Ethernet don't work.
Try to boot your device with USB-C attached. I have USB-C to HDMI adapter that works even if I connect it when macOS is already up. But my Anker USB-C to Gigabit Network with USB3.0 Ports - Adapter only works if connected at boot.
Yes, my hub is like that too (connect it @boot)
@mukulhase Can you confirm Thunderbolt is working?
Only hdmi works. Usb, ethernet and audio doesn't work over it. So I'm guessing either it works and is unsupported, or TB15 has some sort of type-c fallback. Connecting at boot doesn't help. @furrybanana , Does Thunderbolt show up in System Info?
@mukulhase It shows: Thunderbolt: No hardware was found.
But USB 3.0 Hub (3 ports) and Ethernet is working. Only when connected to USB-C on boot. If removed and attached again it will not work.
It's a Anker USB 3.0 Data and Ethernet Hub for USB-C Devices, Model: A8303
@furrybanana your device uses "USB over Type-C". I'm asking whether Thunderbolt is working. Externally, it uses the same port but thunderbolt has much more bandwidth.
I really would like to know if you could use a eGPU solution with a hackintosh.
I'm buying an akitio node 3 in 3 weeks. I'll have to test that.
Sorry my bad. Have no thunderbolt equipment to test. I was guessing it should work since it's the same usb-c connector specs.
My Razer Core doesn't even show up when connected. It does on a MacBook however.
The good news is, as long as the eGPU box has TI83 USB-C controller, it will work with native external GPU support in macOS 10.13 High Sierra.
Hi, I'm trying to connect my TB15 Thunderbolt to the XPS 9350. A bunch of these appeared for cheap on ebay (~70$) , compared to the TB16 (300$) which achieves the same. It would be great if we could get it working.
