As my experience , set the bios settings to default after a BIOS upgrade and reset it will make sense.
Have the similar problem. BIOS 1.7.0, reset didn't help.
It's kernel panicking on the the Broadcom Airport driver.
I followed the guide, but when i tried step 5. i got a error and can't access the installer. my spec: i5 6200u fhd hd 520 bios 17
