Some business oriented laptops (like some models of the thinkpad) include a different style polarizer coating that makes the screen only visible within 60º of the monitor, generally for privacy concerns so those sitting around you cant read the screen.
Why/User Benefit/User Problem
This will increase the users privacy and add some attractiveness to businesses looking to ensure that it is harder to snoop on employees working with sensitive data. You can get this with after market dropins but they often have undesirable side effects like the air gap between the panel and the privacy screen causes ghosting and makes the screen hard to read or use, or they require copious amounts of tape or adhesives to get them to stay. It would be nice to have one that was a more natural part of the build even if it was optional for a price.
