Mechanical keyboard #36

Why/User Benefit/User Problem

Laptop keyboards are terrible, and too thin. Laptops are too thin, and overheat. Laptops should be just as good to type on as desktops for extended work. User demand for mechanical keyswitch laptops is sufficient that people are literally building their own, typically around a Raspberry Pi and a 3D printed enclosure. See https://hackaday.com/2019/09/20/3d-printed-virtuscope-is-a-raspberry-pi-4-cyberdeck-with-a-purpose/.

Description of the feature

There should be a mechanical keyboard option for a thicker developer/power-user/gamer laptop, perhaps implemented as a tray that the keyboards latch into to allow swapping out full keyboards. This would also allow a unibody construction for the main laptop body without restricting yourselves to garbage chiclet keys. The thicker laptop should also be used for increased battery volume and/or better cooling.
