Why/User Benefit/User Problem

It's good for a laptop to be able to take minor abuse without falling apart, and the benefits of not spontaneously breaking are obvious. System76 service is excellent, but it's better for everyone the less we have to encounter it.

Description of the feature

Laptop should be somewhat resistant to being dropped, being sat on, being spilled on, getting hot, getting cold, etc. I'm sure you've accumulated a large dataset of dumb things people do with computors. Hopefully this wouldn't impact weight too much, but a little heavier is worth it. Any impact to aesthetics is worth it. It would also be nice if the laptop was user reparable, but much much more important that it doesn't break in the first place.

P.s. if you can make a computer that's 100%-work-in-the-pouring-rain waterproof, that would be amazing, though I assume there's a reason basically no one else is doing that.

Totally agree. I'd trade off a bit of weight and anything aesthetics related for rugged features. It would be great to have something that can be used in the field, whether the "field" is outdoors or in a coffee shop.

Corner bumpers, water resistance (IP67 rating would be awesome), etc
