I'm going to suggest a few things and try to keep it as realistic as possible :)
As I understand, you are planning on starting with an ultrabook style laptop first, so here is what i think
an ultrabook should have in 2019/20.
Screen
The screen should be an IPS screen (at least FHD, maybe higher resolution), It needs to have good color gamut support(the macbook pros for example support 90+% of DCI-P3 Which really benefits content creators like photographers and video editors).
the bezels should be as small as possible
the screen should have anti-glare coating/matt
Keyboard
I think the keyboard should have at least 1.5mm of travel, should have a backlight and be comfortable for people that type a lot.
Ports
I think there should be:
at least 3x usb 3 ports, with at least one of them being a Type-A 3.0 port.
An HDMI port
Headphone jack
Full size SD card reader with support for the faster standards(UHS-II/III)
RJ45 port
Should charge via USC-C(official usb-c PD spec supports 100watts, other companies managed to make a 130watt usc-c chargers(a small led on the cable to show it's charging could be nice)
Battery
For a 15" laptop: 80+wh
for a 13/14" laptop: no less than 50wh
cooling
The laptop should have more than 1 heatpipe and two fans in order to optimize cooling
Should also have vents at the bottom of the laptop
3.A vapor chamber heatsink design will benefit cooling
Upgradeability/ Inside of the laptop
RAM, SSD and wifi card should be upgradeable.
Should have 2 m.2 Slots, at least one should support a pcie drive
Speakers
The speakers should face up and not down
Trackpad
Should be big enough, support clicking on all the surface of the trackpad, preferably glass trackpad like most ultrabooks have
Other stuff
I think a 15" should probably weigh between 1.7 to 2.0kg preferably, smaller sizes a little less.
I don't think a fingerprint sensor is necessary right now
good heat decipation is important
Test for coil whine. some other models on the market suffer from coil whine(high pitched noise usually when connected to the charger).
An ultrabook with an H-series cpu would be great(like the intel Core i5-9400H/ Amd ryzen 3750H)
I think that's everything, sorry if it's too long, and THANK YOU guys for taking suggestions :)
