Many independent configuration options

It would be nice to have many configuration options, all independent from each other. For instance one should be able to choose an 8-core CPU without a dGPU.

Here is a list of possible options (I know it won't be possible to offer everything):

• screen: 1080p or 2160p, touch or non-touch, IPS or OLED
• CPU: Intel or AMD, 4, 6 or 8 cores, (H or U?)
• dGPU: Intel, AMD or none (also pro versions?)
• RAM: ECC or not
• Wi-Fi: 802.11ax ath10k or Intel with blobs or 802.11n ath9k without blobs
• WWAN or second SSD
• SSD: MLC or TLC or QLC or PLC
• webcam or no webcam
• 100 Wh battery or smaller one with additional M.2 slots or MXM GPU
• chassis: 14" (X1 Carbon sized) or 15" (XPS 15 sized), 2-in-1 or not, aluminum, magnesium or carbon fiber, rugged or not, thick or thin

I think Dell used to have options but now they are all about pre-built kits forcing people to buy RAM just to toss it in the trash in order to upgrade to get the required config. Apple is always a bit behind on CPUs, RAM, etc and is harder to get Linux on with the garbage touch bar. (I want OLED + 10th gen)
