8 months ago Tech-docs for major-r5 are in the works, but it will be a while until they are ready. In the meantime, I can help answer questions.
The motherboard used is the Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D, and it does not run our Open Firmware or EC. When we customize the default settings of proprietary BIOS machines, we always disable any WPBT-related features. I've never seen any similar feature for Linux-based OSes, but we would also disable it if we ever got a board with such a feature.

I am interested in buying this model. However I can't find any documentation about it. In particular I want to know if it runs open source firmware (both firmware + EC) and who manufactures the motherboard. Considering most manufacturers now try to pull some shenanigans with WPBT on windows installs or even trying to push crapware into linux, I prefer to avoid that.
