A different driver from Intel cleared the issue without causing the mouse driver problem: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/739797/intel-hid-event-filter-driver-for-windows-10-64-bit-and-windows-11-for-intel-nuc-12-pro-kits-mini-pcs-nuc12ws-using-intel-vpro.html
What does this device do? Also, can we add this to the list of manual download drivers please?
I will add this driver tomorrow. It handles airplane mode.
After resolving #21 for myself, I still have two non-working devices showing in Device Manager. Neither of these are causing any obvious problems for me but I'm opening tickets just document the issue. This ticket is for one of them and I'll file a separate one for the other.
A device appears in Device Manager as "Unknown Device". Its device IDs are:
Searching this string turned up something called the "Intel HID Event Filter" and I tried downloading and installing https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19820/intel-hid-event-filter-driver-for-windows-10-for-intel-nuc-p14e-laptop-element.html. This did indeed make the unknown device show as working, but also made "PS/2 Compatible Mouse" fail to start. My touchpad still works fine (again, after resolving #21) with or without this driver so it's not clear that any actual functionality has improved or regressed. For now I've uninstalled that driver.
