Stuck at Parsing Goodreads data... #110

Hi,

I am using Calibre 3.36 and the latest x-ray creation version (3.2.0). I am trying to generate X-Ray files for a mobi book, but am failing to do so. When I choose "Create/Update files" the whole UI freezes, the CPU usage is at 100% and it does not unfreeze for > 15m.

Here is what the calibre log shows (I have omitted the book title.)

Starting job: Creating File

I have configured the ASIN and the goodreads URL from the book specific preference screen.

Any idea why this process never completes and how to investigate it?

Thanks, Anton

+1 the app stops responding when doing the xray and it doesn't seem to ever finish. Memory usage is not changing either which seems to indicate it's not making forward progress.

+1 This problem still persists

I have this issue as well. Always freezes on 16% while parsing and crashes calibre. It also will not recognize any ASINs; they can only be manually entered.

It does work if you enter the ASIN as a mobi-asin ID, which parses it into a very long code
