This might be similar to the thumbnail situation. There might be somewhere the kindle is pulling the progress information from that needs an updated "ASIN" value

I've searched for a file with the "ASIN" in it other than the thumbnail but couldn't find any. Maybe it's in the apnx in the sdr for the book?
