-8- File types associations #75

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

Certain file types should be associated with certain programs by DEFAULT,
so that when you are in PC man and double click a file it should open with
the appropriate for it program. For instance, when you double click a
.jpg file, a window opens, asking you to choose a program to open the file.
The default setting for .jpg files should be to open by DEFAULT with the
Image Viewer.

I am sure there are other file types that have this problem but I only
tested .jpg files.

Interestingly, this functionality is alteady available in Xplud but not
implemented
in PCman. For instance, create an html file and using PCMAN go to the directory
where the html file is created. If you double click the html file (from PCman),
it
asks you to choose an app.

Now close everything and on the left side of Plate UI (Home, Menu, FILE,
Setting)
click the third icon - FILE -. PCman opens right away. Now go to the upper
right
corner and click the [x] to exit pcman. You should now see the old file manager
program (I don't know its name). From there, go to the folder where you created
your
html file. If you click it, it "KNOWS" that it has to open with itself with
firefox.

It is the same case for other files, such as .txt .mp4 and so on.

This might be the problem with PCManFM MIME file types. The "old" file manager
works, because it tries to open all files in Firefox (xPUDs interface, Plate UI
is
running in chromeless Firefox window).
