The changelog entry related to the current build is applied to src rpm archive only. As a result the is no history about nightly (weekly) builds in the Git repository. While the changes could be pushed back to GitHub there are some corner cases to handle (such as failed COPR builds or parallel Travis builds) and having build history in COPR could be enough in the basic version.
