Sadly a known issue that is very hard to address. It requires a major refactor to smoothen out transitions between weather types. This is on my roadmap but nothing I can do for now as I sadly don't have the time.

Sounds like the same issue as #10 just the opposite effect.
Not sure those stutterings were not related to my commit about eff85fb in climate_api
If anything, it should reduce the stutter as the effects are applied for longer.
Fog is applied then disappears so on looping Same for shadows, and that said shadows from regional weather may be a bit too dark.
I propose just to add some settings to disable fog and shadow management.
