It would be nice to have the buddy lists tabbed also, for each TorChat identity
I use.
For example:
_____________________________________________________________
ID1buddyliststatus | ID1message1 | ID1message2 | ID1message3 |
-------------------------------------------------------------
ID2buddyliststatus | ID2message1 | ID2message2 | ID2message3 |
-------------------------------------------------------------
If we group (conference) chats, each one would be associated with the ID I'm
using by
placing it on the same row. I like it on the right in a column format
(configurable?)
with large or wide screen monitors, since it takes up less vertical space and I can
have many tab windows open:
ID1buddyliststatus
ID1message1
ID1message2
ID1message3
ID1conference1
ID1conference2
ID2buddyliststatus
ID2message1
ID2message2
ID2message3
ID2conference1
ID2conference2
Each tab could be colored to match the buddy status (gray, green, etc), and
turn a
special color to indicate a new message has been received (configurable?), if
it's
not an active tab. In tabbed mode, it should show only a few characters
(configurable?) of each onion hash ID, if a name hasn't been entered. If a name
has
been entered, it should show the name.

I will implement some sort of tabbed interface, but i must think about the
details.

maybe this could work with multiple identities by connecting to other TorChat
instances via HTTP natively, but transparently, from within TorChat. If I have
2 ID's
on my work PC, and 2 ID's on my home computer, if TorChat could connect to my
home
computer, I could use all 4 ID's on my work computer without needing to worry
about
anything. See issue 22 for more talk on managing identities.

well, remote controlling TorChat is not likely to happen very soon, but maybe i
will
think about it again after i have implemented a web interface (mentioned by an
user
in another issue) which sounds interesting.
