Blurry save button #98

On OS X the save button is blurry and a slightly less simplistic than the other icons. savebutton

I might have better (less blurry) save icons: http://thenounproject.com/noun/floppy-disk/#icon-No6132 http://thenounproject.com/noun/floppy-disk/#icon-No2476 These do require attribution in the about window. http://thenounproject.com/using-symbols I can prepare one in the correct size if you want, or do you prefer to find out how to use the OS X native ones?

Mind you, there is probably more important stuff to fix first, so you can tag this Low priority.

I could not find much about OS X icons, so I guess we will have to provide our own icon set. However, since visicut includes many icons now (camera etc), I think we should find a good looking free icon set, which we can include. Suggestions?

Yes I agree. And preferably free as in freedom. I did some research already, creating the icons you already use. The Noun project is very interesting. http://thenounproject.com/

And there are some free icon fonts, but you can notice it's in the world of designers, where the idea of opensource hasn't really gotten far yet. So you find mainly free as in free beer. http://weloveiconfonts.com/ http://css-tricks.com/flat-icons-icon-fonts/ (some free) http://fortawesome.github.com/Font-Awesome/

These are really free though: http://somerandomdude.com/work/iconic http://fortawesome.github.com/Font-Awesome

The downside to icon fonts is that it's harder to search icons, and fonts are mainly easy for web and not in applications (I think).

I would be willing to have a good look at icons and find (and tweak some) to get a visually compatible set for Visicut. One I could also post back to the Noun project for example.

Good idea. Just find some good and free icons (i just want to be able to distribute them with VisiCut for free, i can include a copyleft notice in the about/readme, that is no problem).

Yes... icon fonts are not so easy to use. I would prefer if you find a free icon set containing PNG icons. I hope we find a set containing all necessary icons.

For clarity I created a new issue: https://github.com/t-oster/VisiCut/issues/107 It's on my todo. If it was possible I would have assigned it to myself, but I don't think I can, in Github.
