some cookie consternation #8

Hello again, guys. I have given this some thought, and I now believe that I am handling cookies in an inadvisable way. Of course they should not be stored on the server. Even the portion of the Wikipedia article on cookies that's visible from Google says that they are "stored on the user's computer." A senseless mistake. This is the way the cookie crumbles, not with a bang but a whimper. :(

I will fix this tomorrow, in addition to the other thing, which is probably related.
