Replacing file icons #177

Hi!

What's the difference:

  1. IC (Icon Changer) = Display another icon for: a specific file type, \config\iconchanger.tsv
  2. EIC (Extension Icon Changer) = Display another icon for a specific file type, \config\extensionicon.tsv ?

I guess, in both cases "1 icon = many extensions separated by commas", but EIC works more stable.

In IC if I assigned some icon with the file type and then change icon nothing will happen and there are problems with scaling and changing the view style in file panel.

In EIC this works fine, but there are problems with extensions such DVR-MS, MP+ and others that containing symbols "+" and "-".

According to the Wiki Extension icon changer is simply to change icons based on file extension, purely on a per-file type basis.

Whereas IconChanger is a solution to change folder icons, based on whether they are open or closed, unassociated file types, network and shortcut overlays, etc.

It cannot change the icon of a file type that is not associated with a program in Windows, those are considered "undefined".

Now it is clear... Can you confirm the DVR-MS, MP+ problem with the Extension icon changer or the problem in my OS?

I have tried "Extension icon changer" with extension DVR-MS without success on Windows 7. So it is probably a problem of the add-on, not a problem of your system.

Try the freeware FileTypesMan to change the icon.
