Excel file saved as ".aspx" #112

What steps will reproduce the problem?
There is link in my page which is pointed to an Excel file. As I click on the 
like a window will be opened which ask where to save the Excel file. But 
surprisingly the file saved as .aspx rather than .xls.
If I open my page directly in IE the file will be save as .xls.

What are the OS and IE versions?
Win&, IE8

What exceptions are thrown? If any, please copy and paste the exception dump.
There is no exception.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected out put is the file extension should be ".xls" which it is ".aspx" 
instead.
