Name of the package #90

We need to come up with something better than fc. Ideas?

FloCal (import flocal as fc)
FlowCal (import flowcal as fc)
FlowPy (import flowpy as fp)
FlowAnalysisPy (import flowanalysispy as fap)
FlowAnalPy (import flowanalpy as fap)
AnalysisFlow (import analysisflow as af)
AnalFlow (import analflow as af)

... jokes aside I like FlowPy at the moment (modeled after NumPy SciPy, etc.). Perhaps a little ambitious to suggest we are the comprehensive flow cytometry package which should be analogous to NumPy for numeric Python and SciPy for scientific computing in Python. It also kinda sounds like "floppy", shrug. Also, unfortunately, this older project exists: http://flowpy.wikidot.com/, although they don't appear to have anything up on PyPi.

FloCal and FlowCal are ok, although I'm not fully convinced. Although FlowPy is a good name, I don't wanna take it if someone else is using it even if it's not on PyPI. PyFlow is taken, unfortunately. FlowAnalysisPy, masturbation jokes aside, is too long and not catchy enough - I can't remember the name 5 seconds after reading it.

Here are some more alternatives

pyMEF (sounds and looks good, but it gives the impression that the module can only do MEF transformation)
pyFlowCyt (sounds good but looks kind of ugly in my opinion)
pyFC (sounds bad, will be meaningless for a non-python person)

I agree regarding pyMEF; don't like being so tied to the the "MEF" concept. Seems nearsighted.

I don't know how to pronounce Cyt / it sounds kinda harsh. Is it like "-cite"? Maybe we could use that.

I also don't know how prevalent prepending py is; I've mostly seen appending Py, so I kind of prefer that.

FloPy, import as fp. We can either enforce "flow Py", or just embrace "floppy"

We agreed that FlowCal is the new name of the package. We still need to change the name of the repo, so I'll keep this open.
