When selecting a profile photo, tapping in the photo browser search box causes the photos browser to close.

Environment

To reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Tap on the Settings icon
  2. Tap on avatar/profile photo
  3. Tap in the "Photos, People, Places..." search box

Expected behavior

The ability to enter text to search photos by keyword for a profile photo.

Observed behavior

Photo browser closes back to the profile card before any text can be entered.

Any other info

I have a large photo library (63K photos).

Still seeing this in 1.2 (129) (iOS 15, iPhone XS Max)

Go to Settings > Me

Tapping the delete icon doesn't delete the current profile photo.

To change the current avatar, tapping it brings up the Photo Browser as expected.

Tapping a photo to use doesn't replace the old one.

Tapping in the "Photos, People, Places..." search box shows the "Unable to Load Items" dialogue box as per Jannus' earlier screenshot.

Changing and removing photo not working is a new bug, thank you, we’ll get on to that shortly.

This was a bug, fixed in build 130, thanks for noticing.

The “Unable to Load Items” remains a problem. I’m not sure if that’s something we can control. Haven’t heard of other users reporting it. We’ll keep this bug open for now.

@pyscajor quite a while has gone by. Tact is now available publicly in the App Store. I wonder if you are still seeing this in the public version?
