I got this SpeedTest++ version 1.14 Speedtest.net command line interface Info: https://github.com/taganaka/SpeedTest Author: Francesco Laurita francesco.laurita@gmail.com IP: 37.136.199.120 ( DNA Oyj ) Location: [60.2175, 24.6739] Finding fastest server... 10 Servers onl ine .......... This is a 5G 1000Mbit/s links, so that's not possible.. I run this every 10 minutes and it happens multiple times per day.

It looks liek there is an error where upload is being measured wrongly. I have a 1GB/1GB fiber connection. Speedtest++ 1.14 reports about 200Mbit - but using the ookla webclient gives a correct result of about 900Mbit.

This is an issue I have also seen with the speedtest_cli client before. (and the reason I actually changed to the Speedtest++ client)

+1 Sometimes, the recorded speed exceeds the theoretical maximum speed of the GPON tree

Testing download speed (32) ...........................................................................................................................................

Testing upload speed (12) .......................................................................................
Upload: 60.79 Mbit/s

I tested this on a DOCSIS 3.1 modem connection, where my PC went through several 1Gbit link ethernet interfaces, before hitting the internet, so it's impossible that i have 1062.22 Mbit/s download speed.

This was my first test after I noticed that Gentoo prompted me to install this tool, instead of Ooklas speedtest-cli as seen below:

 * Messages for package net-analyzer/speedtest-cli-2.1.3-r1:

 * net-analyzer/speedtest-cli is often times inaccurate, especially on faster
 * links, due to its use of the older HTTP-based API. In order to have more
 * accurate measurements, please use net-analyzer/speedtest++ instead.

I will be filing a bug with Gentoo about this, because this tool does not deliver accurate measurements.
