Clarify "Cheating or Botting" wording #80

A mod has mentioned the "Cheating or Botting" report is only intended for suspected botting. This mod informed us they are "just a way for mods to keep an eye on people that are suspected to be playing with bots".

If that is the case I propose the wording be updated to reflect this, such as "Cheating by botting" or simply "Using a bot" or "Botting".

If this is not the case, and there are other things considered cheating, this needs to be clarified officially somewhere. Are smart macros cheating? Movement userscripts? Powerup timers? What qualifies?

Let's keep it civil guys. Let's discuss the actual wording instead of bringing this into an argument. I will close the issue with prejudice otherwise.

Let me distill it into a couple of questions I think need clarification before we go further.

  1. Is the "Cheating or Botting" report intended to be used for anything other than botting?
  2. If so, what qualifies as cheating? There are no rules as far as cheating in pubs other than not botting as far as we have been told to this point. If this is no longer the case it needs to be made clear to players what counts as cheating.
  3. If not, can we clarify the wording?

Any update on this @AMorporkian? It's been a little over a week and I was wondering if we can get clarification regarding the questions above.

My apologies, I didn't notice the notification for the questions.

  1. Botting and exploits, not for gameplay.
  2. Exploits refer to anything that contravenes how the game is supposed to be played. If someone instantly teleported to the other side of the map, that would could. However, to my knowledge none have been found in TagPro nor do I expect a game breaking bug like that to be found considering there are only four keys you can press.
  3. I don't really know how we could clarify the meaning, but I'll mull it over. It may be best just to remove anything after botting.
