GUI elements repoisiton bug #3

Open tahsinhasem opened 7 months ago

tahsinhasem commented 7 months ago

Some GUI elements keep repositioning themselves up and down (randomly) if I keep executing invalid commands. This is unexpected behavior, as it is random, and not an animation (sometimes they move upm after command, sometimes down, sometimes stays in the same position [expected] but in a random fasdhion). The said gui elements have marked below. Apologies for not providing the video.

I have marked it Medium because it makes the app look more buggy than it is and gives the impression of a poor quality product.

Procedure: -keep pressing enter on an invalid command like: add [/ATTRIBUTENAME ATTRIBUTEVALUE]…ora [/ATTRIBUTENAMEATTRIBUTEVALUE]…

Team's Response

We are unable to reproduce the bug. Furthermore, we wrote the code in a way that when an invalid command is keyed, only the commandBox Section changes, we add the error message to the display, we change the image below the commandBox to tell you that you have made an error, and so there will be no re-rendering card section so no elements should be moving up or down. The only explanation for your behaviour is when you made a valid command, then the personList will reset itself to show the beginning of the list again and the moving up or down is not a randomness rather it is because you hovered over the element, so when u made a valid command, the list resets to the top and if your cursor is over the card, the element moves up, which is intended or at least how the app works. And this do not hinder the functionality of the app, it does not prevent the user from performing their function

We are unable to reproduce this bug. Below is the video showing our attempt:

Even if you do somehow manage to reproduce the bug, this is definitely not medium severity at all, and I would argue that it is only of VeryLow severity, as per the requirements shown below, the bug would be purely cosmetic, as it would not hinder the user in using the app at all. image.png

 Issue response

Team chose [response.CannotReproduce]

Reason for disagreement: I can be replicated on a windows machine if you keep entering the wrong command. Video link : https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/zvpac34r12k53g7s4wvlz/Media2.mp4?rlkey=hr9f8bacgjgqh5tcyyrticb1l&st=kfks8xht&dl=0
