Project Description

BurnFeed is a decentralized application (DApp) that mimics the functionality of Twitter. This project will use a simple smart contract inspired by Simpubprotocol. It aims to achieve the following:

• Handle around 10 million active users per day on Taiko Layer 2 or Layer 3, corresponding to approximately 600 transactions per second (assuming each user executes 5 transactions daily),
• Provide a user experience akin to Twitter for disseminating information,
• Resist censorship by enabling users to download software and operate a node, creating a localized view of network information. It does not utilize any public DNS or website,
• Enable users to extend their reach or attention from potential viewers by burning specific tokens.
• Allow users to send encrypted messages.

milestone 1: Prototype Development

• Develop a prototype using Taiko L2 as the foundational layer.
• Release the open-source code for both the smart contract and client-side components.

milestone 2: NFT Profile Integration

• Incorporate the feature allowing users to use NFTs as their profiles.
• Launch an updated client-side release reflecting these enhancements.

milestone 3: Client Configuration, Formal Specification & Lottery Feature

• Deploy docker-based configurations for clients to guarantee an efficient and smooth setup process.
• Unveil a detailed and formal client-side specification, focusing on clarity and seamless integration.
• Introduce a lottery feature, randomly selecting a user to draw tokens from the vault.

Project Plan

We plan to recruit contributors to develop this app anonymously with any actually realword lega entity. All source code will be MIT licensed and entirely open sourced. To encourage community involvement, we may decide to mint a token for this app to We're embarking on an innovative journey to create a groundbreaking application, and we're inviting the global community to be an integral part of this venture. Our Principles are:

1. Anonymity: We believe in the power of ideas over identities. Our development process will not be tied to any real-world legal entity, ensuring the focus remains solely on the product.

2. Open-Source Ethos: All of our source code will be released under the MIT license. By keeping everything open, we hope to foster a transparent, collaborative environment where innovations flourish.

3. Community Incentivization: Recognizing and rewarding active participation is at the core of our philosophy. We're exploring the possibility of minting a unique token for our app. This token will serve as a testament to one's contributions and engagement with the project.

Dear Taiko team, the following is our plan for the coming months. We know that Taiko's grant is milestone-based, we will try our best to implement all planned feature to qualify.

Month 1:

• Migrate blockchain indexing data to IPFS.
• Integrate with Taiko alpha-5 testnet as the default app-layer.
• Implement a user-settable filter in the UI to ignore posts with burn values below a specified threshold.
• Enhance UI to support multiple images per "tweet."
• Enable local setup of the relayer and UI via Docker Compose.
• Switch to using Taiko tokens for burns, instead of Ether.

Month 2:

• Implement periodic purging of index data in the relayer, configurable via the UI.
• Cache content from users in the same group in the relayer (grouping by hashed addresses). Each group has 1% of all users.
• Release a relayer API specification (choose between RESTful or JSON-RPC).
• Update UI for improved styling.
• Implement user ban feature; banned users' index & content data will not be stored by the relayer.
• Enable relayer to auto-detect and shadow-ban users for invalid index data or content (size, formatting), configurable via the UI.

Month 3:

• Dynamically adjust relayer cache based on the estimated number of weekly active users, aiming to cache contents for 200 users (configurable, minimum 100).
• Allow Docker Compose setup without a local relayer; enable UI to specify a remote relayer.
• Enhance GitHub documentation for better user guidance.
• Lint all code and enable auto formatting of all code.
