Unexpected error received when trying to apply a theme.

If You used Titanium backup to restore any data other than games.
re install clean and do not use Titanium. If the problem still exists
Than please file the report.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Theme Engine
2. Choose a theme and tap arrow to apply
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected output - Either "This theme was improperly complied and cannot be 
applied. Please report this incident to the theme author." If I received this 
response I would apply the "System" theme, reboot and apply the theme again and 
I would be good to go, or I would get "Sorry this theme is missing assets for 
your device's screen size", I would tap "apply anyway", reboot to ensure theme 
was installed correctly and I would be good to go.

What do you see instead - Received theme error "This theme is missing assets 
for your device's screen resolution." I tapped "apply anyway". When my soft 
keys re-appeared I tried to use any of them (back, home or task), I received 
"System UI is not responding" error. I received this every time I tried a soft 
key. Eventually I had to reboot. I tried to re-apply the System theme and the 
same issue. I eventually had to complete the wipe data/cache/davlik cache 
process again and re-install the rom.

Please provide any additional information below.

Prior to this release (4.3) I wasn't having any theme issues. I sent a note to 
the themer (Bboy) for assistance and he advised that the theme isn't missing 
any assets, and that he doesn't build in source so there is something glitched 
that has that pop up (UI error pop up). Please see the attached screen shot of 
the "This theme is missing assets for your device's screen resolution." error.

Did you install after wiping data/cache/davlik cache or dirty flash(no
wipe)  This must be answered honestly for us to help.

1. Always wipe data/cache/davlik cache first before installing any new ROM.

many themes show this and apply just fine.

i need exact steps of what you did with softkeys prior to applying theme.

I can not reproduce your error i flashed 5 differnt tmobile themes without 
problem.
but there may be something with the prior mods also please link me the exact 
theme you are having problems with so i can try it.

I had reponded via email; I don't see my update so here it is again:

Thanks for responding. I did change the soft key back glow (in settings), but i 
can't remember if I did it before applying the theme or after because I always 
change it without problems to the theme soft keys. I didn't change the soft 
keys from stock prior to applying the theme as I find that when I do, the 
themer's soft keys don't come in. I went to DUSTINB and B-BOY sites and they 
don't have links to the themes as they were done for the holidays. I did take 
screen shots of the theme names I tried; hope this helps. 

I first applied Christmas Cobalt - CM9/CM10 as I wanted to see what his green 
and red soft keys looked like (I was previously using halo soft keys prior to 
updating to rom 4.3.) and when they didn't change I tried B-BOY's CM10 JB  
Theme: HOLIDAYZ theme (2nd screen shot). I was going to stay with that theme as 
his soft keys did change but not the colour (should have changed from white to 
hot pink). I hope this is enough information?

Update, yesterday I reverted back to release 4.1 (from scratch meaning I 
installed the ROM as if it were a new release - installed after wiping 
data/cache/davlik cache, waited for apps to reload etc.)and I was able to 
install my themes with no problems. I received the correct reponse of "Sorry 
this theme is missing assets for your device's screen size". I did this before 
I would normally change the back glow of the soft keys (which shouldn't make a 
difference). I'm currently running B-BOY's CM10 JB Theme: HOLIDAYZ with no 
problems. So there's something in the 4.3 code that my phone doesn't like. I 
know you guys do amazing work and I'm hoping you can assist.

please download the update i know it says for 4.3 but you can use it its only a 
couple apk's and an update to tools than go into the new experimental area in 
tools and download the new 4.4 exp .  and let me know if the themes are working 
on it.
Id appreciate it. i have not had any problems with themes though ive tried a 
few.

Hi just installed rom 4.3 and I'm trying to find the new experimental area in 
tools. Can u please advise under which sub section in Tools it's in? I don't 
see it.

Did the 4.3 patch and did the download for 4.4. Having a hard time trying
to find which folder the file went into.

Good news! Tried a few themes and everything (soft keys are changing to the
themer's shapes and / or colours) is working great! Thanks for all your
