html convert creates empty span #101

The html converter creates empty spans. For instance:

Femmes qui vont tout le chevez
Maignent en la rue de Chevez.
P/

gives:

Femmes qui vont tout le chevez
Maignent en la rue de Chevez.

How do you figure they are empty? Each logical line is <span>\nText of the line...\n</span><br /> which is just like Guiguts except for the extra line-breaks. (Perhaps you have not met the peculiar HTML for class poem? See: http://www.pgdp.net/wiki/CSS_Cookbook/Poetry#Stanzas)
