Yes and no.
Standing on tainted land has a chance of tainting you every tick. Thus, if you jump, you are not at risk... for the tics you are in the air, at least! Likewise, running means you spend less time on tainted land, further reducing blight damage. I have seem somebody take damage while sprint-jumping, it's just far more rare.
Problem is, sprint-jumping is the most hunger-intensive thing in the game, so sprint jumping across the landscape burns a ton of food points. If you have enough food to do so comfortably, then feel free. You earned it! If you're cheating up food or turning off diminishing returns, then it's your fault sprint-jumping is an exploit, not mine. ;)
